Vocabulary

Typeface

Refers to a group of characters, such as letters, numbers, & punctuation that share a common design/style.

Font

Refer to the means by which typefaces are displayed or presented.

Recognizable by the small lines at the end of character strokes. These lines make a typeface easier to read by guiding the eye.

These typefaces do not have serif lines. The lack of serifs makes these fonts easier to read on screen. Often used on digital text.

These types are designed to suggest informality, as if they were written quickly. Many times they appear to have been drawn with a brush.
